Meet the Team

Nicky Balty

Occupational Therapist

Nicky began her career as an Occupational Therapist in 2017 with a large local authority team assessing for aids and adaptations. Nicky was lucky enough to move on to working with people with Learning Disabilities which has always been her passion. Nicky worked for the NHS working in a busy adult community learning disability team before moving on to her current role, still within the NHS, on a female forensic unit, working to develop and shape the service offered.

Nicky has a passion for Sensory Integration and is currently studying for a Masters degree in this. Within Sensory Integration, Nicky’s key area of interest relates to trauma; whilst the work can be challenging, Nicky believes that Sensory Integration, along with core Occupational Therapy values, can support a person on their journey to healing and improve their quality of life through engagement in meaningful activity. Nicky also has a keen interest in learning about and supporting those who experience Neurodevelopmental differences.
